Projects

We work on the following projects and cooperate in the following consortia:

  • WBEmetro: Implementation of small-scale monitoring of municipal wastewater to detect endemic coronaviruses and health-relevant human pathogenic viruses in the metropolitan city of Frankfurt am Main. This AMELAG-associated project is funded by the Federal Robert Koch Institute with funds from the Federal Ministry of Health.
  • WBEregio: Establishment of local monitoring of municipal wastewater for human pathogens for the public health service; funded by Verein des Hygiene-Instituts des Ruhrgebiets e.V.
  • As part of the research initiative PIA-II (Polioviruses in Wastewater,) led by the Federal Robert Koch Institute, we support the analysis of wastewater in in the metropolitan city of Frankfurt am Main for traces of polioviruses (since December 2024).
  • Collaborative project WBEready: Wastewater-based Epidemiology and Preparedness: Research Needs for a Roadmap to Develop Adaptive Monitoring Capacities in Public Health Services; funded by BMG.

  • Innovative Therapeutics (TheraNova), Rhine/Main Region, funded by the Fraunhofer Institute of Translational Medicine and Pharmacology ITMP and HMWK. For more info, click here.
